It’s not about having tons of money.
Many wealthy people have poor financial wellbeing, have a chat with a financial advisor and they’ll soon tell you! More money more problems. Or simply that they aren’t looking after their pennies and have no idea how to create a sustainable budget.
Many people on a lower income appreciate and respect what they have and look after their finances beautifully.
Feeling well, financially, is more to do with your thoughts & actions towards saving and spending. It’s how safe & secure you feel & how much you’re enjoying your current lifestyle as well as having a plan in place for the future version of you.
This plan doesn’t need to be groundbreaking it just needs to speak to your soul. It could be as simple as “I want to live life free of debt, save up for what I want and be in control of my income. I want to have a retirement plan, and savings for emergencies”.
If it could be this simple, what would your plan be?
Juggling the myriad of things in life often leaves sorting out your money near the lower end of the list—on a par with the leaning tower of Pisa that is the ironing! But, unlike the ironing which is easy but boring, perhaps you don’t feel very knowledgeable about how to organise your money. Maybe, the last few times ended in tears? It’s a skill you wish you had but you don’t and you feel like a prize idiot when you just can’t work it out into a meaningful plan of action.
You’ve added things up before, you’ve filled in spreadsheets, you have pots set up on your current account but still it doesn’t seem to get to the root of it all.
Going a little deeper before you move forward is critical otherwise you simply won’t.
The psychology of money is a biiiiiig topic because we’re really complicated, us humans! Add into the mix if you’re in a couple, you’ve now got two levels of complexity to manage. Kids as well? OK, potential chaos now.
I’ve put together a lovely 8-page supplement that is my gift to you. It will help YOU understand your relationship with money a little more. It’s a beginner’s guide, a soft approach so that you can get the conversation flowing and dig that little bit deeper to establish the what, who, when, where, and why before you move forward and learn to be better with the how.
