MENTORING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Effective from January 1st 2026
These terms apply to all mentoring services delivered by Lucy Prior / The Fairy Godmother Experience. Budgeting and Planning. https://www.budgetingandplanning.co.uk

By booking or attending sessions, you confirm that you understand and agree to these Terms.

1. About the Service / Programme Description / How We Work

The Fairy Godmother Experience™ and all accompanying mentoring sessions (“the Programme”) are designed to support you in developing clarity, structure and confidence with your household finances. This includes organisation, planning, budgeting systems, mindset support and educational guidance.

Mentoring sessions are held live via Zoom or Google Meet unless otherwise agreed.

You are responsible for arriving on time, prepared, and in a quiet and private environment where you feel comfortable sharing.

I will provide tools, guidance and structure tailored to your needs, based on the goals we discuss at the beginning of our work together.

This service is educational and supportive.

Important: Mentoring is:

  • not therapy
  • not counselling
  • not regulated financial advice, savings/investment/pension advice, tax advice, or debt counselling
    Where relevant, I may signpost you to an appropriate professional.

2. Eligibility

The Programme is available to adults aged 18 and over.
You are responsible for determining whether mentoring is suitable for your circumstances.

 

3. What’s Included

Depending on the priorities you decide in your first session, your mentoring service will include:

  • Live 1:1 mentoring sessions
  • The structured three-session Fairy Godmother Experience™

    • Session One: 40 minutes
    • Session Two: 60 minutes
    • Session Three: 40 minutes

  • Digital tools, templates and budgeting worksheets
  • A 30-day access window to session recordings (where enabled)
  • Optional follow-up sessions at £40 per 40 minutes

4. Payment & Pricing

Payment is required in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. WooCommerce handles all secure payment processing through the website only. 

Your session or programme is confirmed once payment has been received and you have selected your session time via the scheduling link sent after checkout.

Early-bird pricing applies only to the first 10 clients after launch on 1st January 2026; after which, standard pricing applies. 

This may change from time to time with promotions, and will always show the correct pricing on the website. You may receive a promotional code via email to use later. Please follow those terms & conditions at the point of purchase. 

5. Refund Policy

To help you feel safe in your decision:

For The Fairy Godmother Experience only:
You may request a full refund within 24 hours of completing Session One if you feel the Programme is not right for you. After this period, the Programme becomes non-refundable, as personalised work begins immediately. If I feel that I will not be able to deliver the service that you want, I will also offer you a full refund after the first session and any booked sessions with you will be cancelled. 

Standalone or single mentoring sessions are non-refundable once delivered.

6. Cancellations & Rescheduling

You may reschedule a session with at least 24 hours’ notice via your scheduling link that is emailed to you, immediately upon booking, and you will also receive a reminder 48 hours before your booked session. Keep these links safe in your email account as they serve as your login to the video session.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be forfeited at my discretion. 

No-Shows:

If you do not join the session within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, the session will be considered a no-show and is non-refundable. You may request a reschedule in exceptional circumstances, but this is not guaranteed.

No-shows are treated as cancellations and are non-refundable. 

If I need to reschedule, I will offer the earliest possible alternative time and ensure that you also have 24 hours’ notice. 

7. Confidentiality

What you share in sessions is confidential and will not be disclosed without your permission, except where required by UK law (e.g., safeguarding concerns, prevention of crime, or risk of harm).

Any notes I keep are used solely to support your mentoring experience and stored securely in accordance with UK GDPR.

8. Recordings & Fathom AI

With your consent, I may use Fathom, a secure AI note-taking tool, to support clarity and accuracy in our sessions. You acknowledge that:

  • Sessions are recorded only with your permission
  • Fathom automatically deletes recordings and transcripts after 30 days
  • I do not store long-term copies of recordings or transcripts
  • You receive recap notes and a temporary link to any recordings
  • You may download recordings and transcripts during the 30-day window
  • After 30 days, all files are permanently deleted from Fathom’s system

Recording is entirely optional.

9. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • attend sessions on time
  • participate openly and honestly
  • Complete any agreed tasks between sessions
  • Communicate any concerns during the process
  • Take responsibility for your own financial decisions
  • Understand that results depend on your personal effort, follow-through, and circumstances

You acknowledge that this mentorship provides guidance and support rather than directives or guarantees.

10. Mentor Responsibilities

I agree to:

  • Provide mentoring with care, professionalism and compassion
  • Deliver the Programme as described
  • Maintain confidentiality within legal limits
  • Offer structure, tools, perspective and emotional support
  • Treat you with respect, kindness and non-judgement
  • Support your development of lifelong household finance skills

11. Not Professional Financial Advice & No Guarantees

The Programme does not provide:

  • Regulated financial advice
  • Tax advice
  • Investment or Pension recommendations
  • Debt counselling or supporting with repayment plans. 

I cannot and do not guarantee specific outcomes or financial results.
Your progress will be influenced by your own engagement and follow-through.

If you need specialist services, such as debt support, economic abuse support, or regulated financial advice, I will signpost you to reputable services: Citizens Advice, Step Change Debt Charity, Gov.uk, Money Helper, Surviving Economic Abuse and Unbiased.

12. Intellectual Property

All tools, spreadsheets, worksheets, documents, training materials, frameworks and templates provided are for your personal use only.

You may not share, reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit them. They fall within the UK law of Copyright ©

13. Data Protection

Your personal data is processed in compliance with UK GDPR.
I collect only the information necessary to deliver mentoring services and communicate with you.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law:

  • I am not responsible for any financial losses or decisions you make
  • I am not liable for technical issues (internet, Zoom, Fathom outages)
  • You accept full responsibility for your own financial actions and choices

The Programme is intended to support you, not replace your independent judgement. It is for educational purposes only and is based on well-utilised Budgeting Guidelines that you will find within any reputable financial institution. 

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
Any disputes will be handled within this legal jurisdiction.

16. Acceptance

By booking, paying for, or attending the Programme, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
